Privacy Policy

Cheffy is a food diary. This page explains what the app stores and why, in plain words.

What we store

Your email address and password (handled by our sign-in provider), your profile (username, display name, bio and photo), and what you post: photos, titles, ratings, reviews, classifications and tags. We also store your follows, likes, comments, collections, rankings comparisons, notification settings and, if you allow notifications, a push token for your device.

Who can see it

Each post is visible to the audience you choose: Public, Followers, or Only me. Private accounts approve their followers. Photos are stored privately and shown only to people allowed to see the post. Location data is removed from photos before upload.

Contacts

If you choose “Invite from contacts”, Cheffy reads your contacts on your phone to show a list you can pick from. Your address book is never uploaded or stored by Cheffy, and we never message anyone for you — you send each invite yourself.

Invites

Each account has an invite code. When a new account uses a code, we record which account referred it so the inviter can be credited. Nobody else can see who invited whom.

Discover

Public posts may appear in Discover sections, including “Most Hated” for low self-rated creations of the week. You can opt out of Most Hated in Settings at any time.

Service providers

Cheffy runs on Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage) and uses Expo to deliver push notifications. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising, and Cheffy has no ads or third-party trackers.

Deleting your data

You can delete any post at any time. Settings → Delete account permanently removes your account with all of your posts, photos, comments and likes.
